As it happens, I'm enlightened.
I shun special treatment for this affliction, even though
the burden of enlightenment is much greater now, on this heated planet of 6 billion
humans, than it was in the dawn of our history, a serene time in which the human
collective numbered in the few hundred millions.
How does a person get to be enlightened? Well, I can't speak
for the others, but in my case a person starts young and spends thirty years studying
philosophy, religion, psychology, anthropology, and biology, and pursuing a broad variety
of mind-exploring execises, meditations, contemplations, and other mind-altering
practices. I sought enlightenment with diligence. I sought enlightenment sincerely. And as
with anything else, if you do anything long enough you get good at it.
Of course, it's actually a lot more complicated than that,
and ultimately I owe a lot more to luck than to ability or sincereity or diligence.
The whole story is a long one, and I think pretty
interesting. Although this material has yet to stand the test of time, I may have
discovered some pretty incredible things. If any of it is to be of use to other explorers,
to the collective humanity, it has to be entered into the public record and tested by
experimentation and peer review. So I'm going to start telling the story.
Over the web, because I love playing with all this great
tech stuff. Slowly, because I'll be living at least another thirty years and I've got a
lot more exploring to do.
Make what you will of it.
